MDT server with two shares

I have an MDT server set up and originally only set it up with one share to choose from. We set up a second share and now we have two options in the list when at first there was only one. Unfortunately it still uses all of the information from the first share despite all of the work that we have done.

I made sure that the shares themselves are pointed to the correct share folders and even changed the rules in each one to be specific to their individual settings.

I even created a locationserver.xml file and deleted the deploy location from the bootstrap.ini file and pointed the shares to it but this has not fixed the situation. I even created a set of folders starting with Extrafiles (/Extrafiles/Deploy/Control) and put the locationserver.xml file in there and pointed both serves to this location in their respective deployment share folders.

I am hoping someone can help me figure out what I am doing wrong.

    Hi there,

WDS requires a boot image and a boot image can only link to 1 deployment share. For every deployment share, a different boot folder/file will be created.

Simply remove the DeployRoot line from the bootstrap.ini file of each of your deployment shares, and then update your deployment shares to regenerate the boot images. Now, when a target computer is started from a boot image, a dialog will be displayed asking you to type the UNC path to the deployment share you want to use.
