Hi All

In our environment via SCCM we have following patches rolled out to our servers on 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019.

Security and Quality Rollup
Cumulative Update
Security Monthly Quality Rollup
Security Only Quality Update
Security Only Update
Servicing Stack Update

Expecting that after the patch installation the server will get rebooted, I noticed that some servers didnt reboot. SCCM patch compliance report marked these servers as compliant.

Upon manually verifying patches on these servers, found some do have patches installed and few didnt had.

I would like to clarify if all the above types of patch installation does it require a reboot of the server to take affect or it depends.

Thank you
Regards
Ramesh

    Hi RameshRK-3879,

The specific updates will determine whether or not the server will require a reboot.

You can find out the specific requirements for each update if you’re able to identify them and look them up online.

Otherwise, it’s an impossible question to answer.
