Hi,
We are using Active Directory 2012 and uses a Server 2019 with AAD Connect.
I've started to investigate the use of different services in Azure, for example Intune + Hello for business.
As I understand it, best practises is to have at least Server 2016 in the on-premises network to make this work in best possible way.

I know there are more services affected by not running a 2016+ Active Directory/schema. But are unable to find tables over this.
Do anyone know about a document showing wich functonality we will lack if we choose to stay with server 2012 for a while?

Thank you! :)

Hello @Anders Olsson The improvements in Active Directory Domain Services installed on Windows Server 2016 over ADDS in Windows Server 2012 includes:

    • Privileged access management
    • Extending cloud capabilities to Windows 10 devices through Azure Active Directory Join
    • Connecting domain-joined devices to Azure AD for Windows 10 experiences
    • Enable Microsoft Passport for Work in your organization
    • Deprecation of File Replication Service (FRS) and Windows Server 2003 functional levels

You can read more about these improvements here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/identity/whats-new-active-directory-domain-services
