How to activate Windows Server 2012 R2 with Windows Server 2008 R2 product key?

Hello,
I made upgrade from Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard (OEM license) to Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. I tried to activate it with my Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard product key, but it didn´t work. How can I activate my Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard?

    How to activate Windows Server 2012 R2 with Windows Server 2008 R2 product key?

    This isn't possible to do. They are different product SKUs. Server 2012 R2 is not a free upgrade and will require a 2012 R2 product key in order to activate.

    Finally I made clean install with Microsoft Server 2019.
