Applying custom security settings to pages running in IE mode

I'm preparing to move some intranet sites to IE mode in Edge once IE11 itself sunsets. I have a GPO that I've used to apply the security settings in IE11 but it's unclear if a GPO that alters IE11 settings will properly configure IE mode in Edge. Example security settings I need to effect are MIME sniffing, allowing script-initiated windows without size constraints and initializing ActiveX controls not marked as safe. Would a GPO defining IE11 security settings for a specific zone have any effect on IE mode in edge, and if so what's the preferred way to apply it?

Thanks!

    Hi @FlyerAdmin ,

Would a GPO defining IE11 security settings for a specific zone have any effect on IE mode in edge, and if so what's the preferred way to apply it?

As far as I know, the Edge IE mode tabs are really running Internet Explorer, and they use zones for everything that IE did. So IE11 security settings will affect IE mode page in Edge. For more details, you could refer to this doc: Security Zones in Edge.

And how to configure security settings will depend on your needs, if you need to configure Edge IE mode via group policy, you can refer to this document: Configure IE mode policies.
