Hello,

We are experiencing an issue with the 4k playback on the Xbox series S using an HTML player based on MSE & EME. The stream manifest contains multiple video tracks coded using H.265 codec and all of them play correctly, except the 4k one.
Right after the 4k track is selected the app crashes and exits automatically without logging any errors. We think that the issue is related to memory usage as modifying the buffer length makes the app crash sooner or later depending on the size used.

However, this issue does NOT happen on the Xbox One S. With this console the 4k streams play entirely.

Does the Xbox series S actually support 4k playback? Is there a way to increase memory availability? We tried to use the restricted capabilities, but the app can't be launched if they are used.

Best Regards.

    Hello, @Nexplayer Test
    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

    4k playback issue Series S

After disscuss with Xbox team, Correct, 4K playback is not officially supported for public developers. Given the crashing on Series S/X. 4K playback is only supported for select managed partners.

    Thank you.
