Problematic phone field in Free Account register form

Hello,
I was attempting to create Free Account in Azure, but after selecting Bulgaria as a Country I was not able to fill in my correct phone number.
The issue is that after the first digit I enter, there is a forward slash (/) that gets automatically appended and this invalidates the number as this is not standard for a Bulgarian number.
For example, if my phone number is +359 898 44 33 22, I will skip the country code (+359) and enter the rest, but it will show as 8/98 66 33 22.

A number of people have been running into this so I want to bring attention to a workaround that @ptsv has found:

    Hi,
I managed to register for the free account.
What I had to do was to verify my seemingly invalid number through text/call and then I had the green light to proceed with my registration.
It seems that in the backend it reads the number correctly and this is just a visual issue.

Hopefully this will help others who may be running into the same issue. Thank you again to @ptsv for sharing this!

If you are still running into issues, try the solution to this similar issue:
