Azure VD Teams screen sharing shares the whole remote connection

Hi,

I have a strange kind of issue with the AVD.
My users needs to be able to share their screen on a AVD and still work on their normal computer, but when you start screen sharing on AVD and give control to the participant, they get control over the whole "host" computer.
Host being the machine they started the remote connection from.

How can I disable this behavior?

    Hello @Rolf Nygård ,
    Welcome to Microsoft QnA.
May I know what is the version of Windows Desktop Client you are using?
To use Microsoft Teams Give and Take Control, the minimum Windows Desktop Client version 1.2.2924 is required to enable the feature on Azure Virtual Desktop. You can also refer to the same here in this blog post -> Microsoft Teams Give and Take Control is now generally available on Azure Virtual Desktop.

Also, could you please verify that the user is selecting the Teams icon from within the session host, and not from the host's taskbar ? (Sometimes we see users might get confused as the host's taskbar appear below the session host because of the session host window not being in full screen mode).

Could you confirm the above two checks and then respond back to me and tag me here, and I shall get back to you on the further steps we can do to fix it. :)

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,

I think you misunderstood the question/problem. Screen sharing works perfectly, but it takes over the host machine as well.

We have scenario with a Host where the MS Remote Desktop verison 1.2.3401.0 is running, and we have an AVD that the Host connects to.
On the AVD the user starts a team meeting, shares his screen and grants me control, and this works fine.

    Heres the issue.
When this sharing is going on, it takes over the whole host computer even though we shared through the AVD. I as guest with control, can even move the remote desktop window on the host computer, and the host computer user that shared the screen with me can't use his computer anymore, even though it was the AVD computer he shared.

    Hope this made sense.

    Hello @Rolf Nygård ,
I have checked with the AVD Product Team, and this is by design. Give/Take Control, like in Teams on the physical endpoint (outside AVD) will always be a joined experience between 2 participants. It is not meant for unattended control of a remote system.

    Hope this clears your doubt.
