Mapped Drives Not Automatically Reconnection on 10 Pro 1909

I recently deployed a Surface Book 3 with the factory installed 10 Pro 1909. He is a VPN user and is prone to network disconnects.

On his 1903 device, when he reconnected to vpn upon disconnection, his mapped drives would automatically re-establish connection. On the new device, it does not. It says destination unavailable or something of that nature.

These drive mappings are being pushed via GPO.

The only remedy I've been able to come up with is to manually remove all the mappings via net use and reapply them. Unfortunately, this user is not a technical person, so this is not practical.

I've verified that this is occurring on several other SB 3, 10 Pro 1909 devices. Same users logged in to a 10 Pro 1903 does not have this problem.

    In regards to your issue, do you share one of the following Symptoms?

    1. In Windows Explorer, a red X appears on the mapped network drives.
    2. Mapped network drives are displayed as Unavailable when you run the net use command at a command prompt.
    3. In the notification area, a notification displays the following message: Could not reconnect all network drives.
