Subscription - Recovery Service Vault - Config Server - Storage Account mapping for migration with ASR

Hi,

I wanted to migrate the VMs on-premises to Azure using ASR.

I have two subscriptions (one for PROD and another for Non-PROD) and 4 regions (2 regions for each subscription; one primary region and another region for DR) in Azure.

I wanted to migrate the PROD and Non-PROD VMs into their corresponding primary subscriptions.

Could you please confirm if with one configuration server at on-premises, is it possible to migrate all the PROD and Non-PROD VMs into the above RSVs (I have 4 recovery service vaults; 1 each for the environment and the corresponding region) in the corresponding subscriptions?

Also, if the configuration server is tied to a particular domain on-premises (PROD/NON-PROD) (Assuming that there is no trust between PROD and Non-PROD ADs) is it possible to migrate both PROD and Non-PROD VMs with a single configuration server? Or do we need separate configuration servers in each domain?

Can someone clarify on the same?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
VJ

@VJ-8370 Apologies for the delay in getting back to your queries. Really appreciate your patience in this matter. Please see the answers below

•You can migrate only to one target Azure region per Configuration Server. The target region gets locked once you click the “Create Resources” button on the Azure portal while setting up the replication appliance
•You can migrate to multiple subscriptions in the same target region for an Azure Migrate project using the same Configuration Server.
•When using the Azure portal experience, Azure Migrate project creates a recovery services vault when you set up your replication infrastructure, and we recommend using the same vault for your migrations. Should you choose to use an existing recovery services vault, follow the guidance here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/how-to-migrate-at-scale#prerequisites
