Action Center overview

You can view all of your Partner Center actions and notifications in the Action Center. It serves as your primary communication hub within Partner Center. You can also manage your preferences, like communication email address, from within Action Center.

Important

Until September 28, 2022, you might see two types of notifications in Partner Center. This is expected as we internally transition all communications to a new platform. All notifications that were previously available in Message Center (available through Account Settings) will continue to be available there.

Access to Action Center

Use the following steps to access your Partner Center actions and notifications.

  1. Sign in to the Partner Center dashboard.
  2. On any page, select the bell icon in the upper-right corner. The notification panel opens showing any critical pending actions.
  3. Select Go to Action Center.

Within Action Center, you can view or manage all actions and notifications relevant to your Partner Center account. The communications you receive depend on the roles you user account has within Partner Center.

Each action or notification is tied to a Partner Center workspace. Each is sent to you because your user account has been granted a specific role by an administrator in your organization.

You can also manage your communication preferences like contact email address and language preference.

Actions

Actions represent communications that require you to perform some tasks within Partner Center. There are two types of actions that you can receive, Mandatory and Recommended.

  • Mandatory actions represent tasks that need to be completed by the due date. If you don't, it could jeopardize your ability to do business with Microsoft in Partner Center. For example, completing your account verification. These actions cannot be archived by you.
  • Recommended actions represent tasks that should be completed by the due date to enable additional business opportunities with Microsoft within Partner Center. For example, updating your tax profile so you can receive timely incentives with the right details. You can archive these messages yourself if they are not something you want to act on.

Notifications

Notifications represent communications that are informing of a change related to one of your areas of responsibility within Partner Center. There are two types of notifications that you can receive, Transactional and Promotional. All notifications can be archived if you do not want to see them in your Notifications panel and Overview.

  • Transactional notifications are sent to update you on the status of various engagements you have within Partner Center. An example of this would be successful publish of your commercial marketplace offer to Azure Marketplace.
  • Promotional notifications are sent to inform you about potential features, launches or events that can benefit your organization and yourself. An example of this would be upcoming Partner Center features around new benefits programs that your organization might be eligible for.

Preferences

You have control over which email address and language you use to receive communication from Microsoft Partner Center. You can enter your email address, preferred language, and job title in Preferences. Additionally, you will be required to verify the provided email address, via one-time password (OTP) so we can ensure that critical communications reach you at your preferred email address.

Note

We do not send email to the onmicrosoft.com domain.

Contact email address provided to Message Center in the past will be migrated to Action Center automatically. Notification preferences previously configured in Message center will continue to apply for those sent out of Message center. You will have the opportunity to configure preferences in Action Center shortly.
