Mobile Devices

Personal information, such as Inbox messages, contacts, and calendar items can be stored on the computer running Microsoft® Windows® Small Business Server 2003, your desktop computer, and your mobile device. Synchronization is the process of comparing the information on your mobile device with the information stored on a server to keep it up to date in both places.

Notes

  • You can verify whether your calendar, contacts, or Inbox are synchronizing with the computer running Windows Small Business Server by opening ActiveSync® on your computer, clicking the Tools menu, and then clicking Options.

  • Synchronization can take place even if your desktop computer is not turned on.

  • The following devices are supported by Windows Small Business Server 2003:

    • Microsoft Smartphone 2002

    • Microsoft Smartphone 2003

    • Microsoft Pocket PC Phone Edition 2002

    • Microsoft Pocket PC Phone Edition 2003

    • Microsoft Pocket PC 2003

If you are using a different mobile device, see your product documentation for synchronization instructions.

  • Some of these devices may not be available in your country or region. For more information, see your network administrator.
