E-mail Domain Name

Platí pro: Windows SBS 2003

The e-mail domain name is the part of the e-mail address that follows the @ symbol. An e-mail address consists of a user name and the e-mail domain name. For example, if you specified wingtiptoys.com as the e-mail domain name, an e-mail address could be Chris@wingtiptoys.com.

Důležité

To avoid e-mail delivery problems, do not use the registered Internet domain name of your Internet service provider (ISP).

In E-mail domain name, you have the following options:

  • If you are using an Exchange server for Internet e-mail, type one of the following:

Your registered Internet domain name, registered through an accredited Internet registrar. An example of a domain name is wingtiptoys.com.

    - OR -

Your subdomain name (secondary level domain). Internal domains are subdomains of the registered Internet domain. An example of a subdomain name is corp.wingtiptoys.com.

Poznámka

The e-mail domain name should match the mail exchanger (MX) resource record maintained at your ISP. This must be a registered Internet domain name.

Poznámka

For companies that receive e-mail using multiple domain names, you can either modify the recipient policy or create a custom recipient policy in Exchange server for the second e-mail domain. For more information, click Start, click Help and Support, click Exchange 2003 Help, and then search for " e-mail address recipient policies."

  • If you want to use Exchange server for only internal e-mail or you do not yet have your e-mail domain name, leave the e-mail domain name blank. When using Exchange for only internal e-mail, Exchange is configured to use the internal domain name you specified in Setup. To configure Internet e-mail at a later time, rerun the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard and modify your e-mail selections.
