Use the Set Up Computer Wizard to install and configure the following applications on client computers.
Client Operating Service Packs
Microsoft® Windows® Small Business Server 2003 deploys Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 and Windows XP Service Pack 2 to client computers. These service packs contain the latest security and reliability upgrades for client computers running Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 Professional.
Poznámka
Because of the importance of these service packs, Windows Small Business Server requires that you deploy them to client computers.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6
Enables users to navigate the Internet and your company's internal Web site, which is based on Windows SharePoint Services.
The following features are configured on client computers:
Home Page. By default, the home page points to My Company (http://companyweb).
Favorites. By default, the Favorites menu contains links to a number of useful Web sites.
Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
Enables users to use e-mail, contact lists, calendars, and task lists.
Windows Small Business Server configures Outlook 2003 to use Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 in profiles set up for new users. These profiles specify Exchange server connections and define account information. If the client computer contains existing profiles, Windows Small Business Server adds Exchange server and sets the new profile as the default.
Microsoft Shared Fax Client
Enables users to send faxes from their desktops. Users can view the status of faxes, pause or cancel faxes, and fax documents to a printer. Outlook 2003 is also configured with faxing capability.
Windows Small Business Server also configures My Network Places, which gives users quick access to personal and shared folders on the server and to document libraries on the company's internal Web site.
