This computer is running an unsupported version of Proxy Server

Platí pro: Windows SBS 2003

Windows Small Business Server 2003 Setup cannot continue with the current version of Proxy Server installed on this computer. To secure your local network from the Internet, Windows Small Business Server 2003 uses Basic Firewall, a feature of Routing and Remote Access service. For more information, see Appendix A, “Additional Information,” of Getting Started.

You must either remove Proxy Server or upgrade Proxy Server to Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000 with Service Pack 1, and then restart Setup.

To remove Proxy Server on a computer running Windows 2000 Server

  1. Cancel Setup.

  2. Click Start, click Run, and then type Control.

  3. Double-click Click Start, click Run, and then type Control.

  4. Click Proxy Server, click Change/Remove, and then follow the instructions for removing Proxy Server.

For more information about uninstalling Proxy Server, search for article 186815 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at the Microsoft Web site (

To upgrade to ISA Server 2000 with Service Pack 1 and configure caching

  1. Follow the instructions provided by ISA Server for completing ISA Server Setup.

  2. Download the ISA Server Service Pack 1 from the Microsoft Web site (

  3. Download the update from article 331062 in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. Search for the article ID at the Microsoft Web site (

  4. Disconnect your Internet connection device from the Internet. However, do not disconnect your server from the Internet connection device.

  5. Disable any real-time antivirus programs that are running, as they may cause problems while running Setup.

  6. Follow the instructions provided on the Web site for installing the service pack, and then follow the instructions provided on the Web site for installing the update.

  7. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then click ISA Management.

  8. In the console tree, under Servers and Arrays, click the name of your server.

  9. Right-click Cache Configuration, and then click Properties.

  10. On the Advanced tab, in Percentage of free memory to use for caching, type 10. This specifies the maximum percentage of memory that should be allocated for caching.

Configuring the percentage of free memory to use for caching is a best practice for using ISA Server 2000 with Windows Small Business Server 2003.

Run the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard to properly configure ISA Server for your Internet connection. To run the wizard, click the Connect to the Internet task on the To Do List, which appears when you are completing Setup.
