Connecting client computers to the server

Platí pro: Windows SBS 2003

An internal Web site is used to join client computers to the Microsoft® Windows® Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) domain.

The network setup Web site is located at http://servername/connectcomputer (where servername is the name of the computer running Windows SBS). When users open the Web site, they supply their computer name and user name, and state whether they want to join the Windows SBS domain.

Client computers running Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional contain network adapters that, by default, have TCP/IP set for DHCP. After these client computers connect to the network with a network cable, they automatically obtain the necessary DHCP information from the server. Users then open Microsoft Internet Explorer and browse to the network setup Web site.

Poznámka

Client computers running earlier versions of Windows must be manually configured and joined to the Windows SBS domain.
