Returns an equivalent interest rate for the growth of an investment.

Syntax

RRI(<nper>, <pv>, <fv>)

Parameters

Term Definition
nper The number of periods for the investment.
pv The present value of the investment.
fv The future value of the investment.

Return Value

The equivalent interest rate.

Remarks

  • RRI returns the interest rate given $\text{nper}$ (the number of periods), $\text{pv}$ (present value), and $\text{fv}$ (future value), calculated by using the following equation:

    $$\bigg( \frac{\text{fv}}{\text{pv}} \bigg)^{(\frac{1}{\text{}nper})} - 1$$

  • An error is returned if:

    • nper ≤ 0.
  • This function is not supported for use in DirectQuery mode when used in calculated columns or row-level security (RLS) rules.
