MSN Explorer: Delete temporary Internet files

Temporary Internet files are saved on your computer as you view them, to speed up the display of web pages that you visit frequently or have already seen. If you visit many different websites, the temporary Internet files folder can fill up quickly. Generally, temporary files are harmless, but they can use up a lot of your hard disk space.

To free disk space, you should occasionally delete the temporary Internet files:

  1. Click the Help & Settings menu, and then click Settings.

  2. In the left pane, click Internet options.

  3. Click Temporary Internet files.

  4. Follow the steps for your Internet browser:

    1. In the Temporary Internet files section, click Delete Files.

    2. Click OK.

    1. In the Browsing history section, click Delete.

    2. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete.

    3. Click Yes, and then click Close.

    1. In the Browsing history section, click Delete.

    2. Make sure that the Temporary Internet Files check box is selected, and then click Delete.

  5. Click OK.
