MSN Explorer: Tips for using your calendar

Windows Live Calendar helps you keep track of appointments, meetings, notes, and other items in your schedule. Calendar also warns you before an entry is due.

To open your calendar, click Calendar on the navigation bar. Here are some more tips to help you use your calendar:

  • To switch your calendar display between daily, weekly, and monthly view, click the Day, Week, or Month tabs.

  • To switch to an adjacent day, week, or month, in the left pane, click the date that you want.

  • To display another month, click the arrows on either side of the small calendar in the left pane.

  • To view a specific day while in the month view, click the number for that date. In the week view, click the name of the day.

Task tips

  • To add a new to-do item, click the To-do list tab, and then click Add a to-do.

  • To delete a to-do item, click the To-do list tab, and then click the X icon next to the to-do item.

Event tips

  • To add an event, in the main calendar grid, click the day or time of day you want the event, and then click Add.

  • To change the start time for an event in the day or week view, point to the top border of the event and drag the border to the new start time. To change the end time, drag the bottom border of the event.

  • To move an event, drag the event to a new time or day.

Sharing tips

  • To let individual MSN members view your calendar, click Share, click the calendar that you want to share, click Share your calendar with friends and family or Send friends a view-only link to your calendar, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

  • To publish your calendar on the Web, click Share, click the calendar that you want to share, click Make your calendar public, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

If you're using a computer other than the one you installed MSN on, visit http:\calendar.live.com. Sign in with your Windows Live ID, and then you can view your calendar.
