My MSN: Arrange content modules and change the layout of My MSN

You can arrange your modules into whatever order you want them, move modules between pages, and change the column layout of your My MSN to suit your taste, your monitor, and your screen resolution. You can also change the look of your page by selecting from a wide range of vibrant and colorful themes.

Move a module

  1. Sign in to the My MSN website with your Windows Live ID.

    - or -

    Open the My MSN website without signing in. If you use My MSN without signing in, your customized changes will be stored on your computer in a cookie, so that the same modules will appear the next time you visit My MSN on the same computer. If you delete your cookies, your customized changes will be lost.

  2. At the top of the page, click the tab for the page that you want to change.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To move a module on the current page, drag it to a new location on the page, or, at the top of the module, click Menu, point to Move, and then click the direction that you want to move the module.

    • To move a module to another page, drag it to the tab for the page that you want to move it to.

Change the column layout

  1. Sign in to the My MSN website with your Windows Live ID.

    Open the My MSN website without signing in. If you use My MSN without signing in, your customized changes will be stored on your computer in a cookie, so that the same modules will appear the next time you visit My MSN on the same computer. If you delete your cookies, your customized changes will be lost.

  2. At the top of the page, click the tab for the page that you want to change.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Customize.

  4. Click the Layouts tab.

  5. In the row that matches your current screen resolution, select the column layout that you want, and then click Save.

Change the background theme

  1. Sign in to the My MSN website with your Windows Live ID.

    Open the My MSN website without signing in. If you use My MSN without signing in, your customized changes will be stored on your computer in a cookie, so that the same modules will appear the next time you visit My MSN on the same computer. If you delete your cookies, your customized changes will be lost.

  2. At the top of the page, click the tab for the page that you want to change.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Customize.

  4. On the Themes tab, select the background theme that you want, and then click Save.

Expand and collapse modules

Most of the modules on My MSN can be collapsed so that modules you don't want to see won't clutter up the page.

  • To collapse a module, click the collapse icon Collapse in the module's header bar.

  • To expand a module again, click the expand icon Expand in the module's header bar.
