MSN Explorer: Download files

Download Manager helps you find, download, and manage files from the Internet. You can also retry failed downloads or complete downloads from web pages after you leave.

Save a downloaded file

  1. Locate the file that you want to download, and then click the appropriate text, such as the file's name or a Download Now link.

  2. In the File Download dialog box, click Save this file now.

  3. Click OK.

  4. In the Save As dialog box, navigate to the location on your computer where you want to save the file.

  5. In the File name box, accept the default name or type a new name.

  6. Click Save.

Note

To stop a download currently in progress, select the check box next to the file name, and then click Stop.

Queue a file to download later

  1. Locate the file that you want to download, and then click the appropriate text, such as the file's name or a Download Now link.

  2. In the File Download dialog box, click Download this file later.

  3. Click OK.

  4. In the Save As dialog box, navigate to the location on your computer where you want to save the file.

  5. In the File name box, accept the default name or type a new name.

  6. Click Save.

Download a queued or failed download

  1. On the View menu, click Download Manager.

  2. Select the check box next to the name of the file that you want to start or retry downloading.

  3. Click Start.

Note

If you're in the Download History list, click View current downloads in the left pane to go to the Current Downloads list.
