MSN Explorer: About online security

MSN continually reviews and updates the MSN Internet Software to help ensure your security when you use MSN online. MSN Explorer uses the same security technologies as Windows Internet Explorer.

MSN Mail uses MSN Virus Guard to help detect viruses in e-mail attachments. If an e-mail attachment contains no viruses, or if it can be cleaned by MSN Virus Guard, the message is sent to your Inbox.

While this protection is significant, it can't guarantee that your experience online will always be secure. There are two important things that you can do to help maintain security on your computer:

  • Learn how to keep your computer and personal information safe. See online help in Internet Explorer or Microsoft Windows, or go to the Microsoft security website.

  • Keep your Windows operating system current with the latest security updates. For the latest updates, go to the Windows Update website.
