Enforce best practices with playbooks
Playbooks in Dynamics 365 for Sales provides guidance to team members on actions to take on events such as a decision maker leaving the organization while the team is working on a deal with the decision maker. It can also streamline and automate recurring tasks and responses to external events. For example, playbook can automate the steps for renewing contracts or it can define the activities a team member must carry out if a decision maker the team member is working with to close a deal leaves the organization.
To start, anyone with a Playbook manager role or equivalent permissions creates playbook categories to classify the playbooks. Then, the playbook manager creates playbook templates that define a set of best practices based on the past experiences and their organization standards. Business users such as a sales person or a service rep with the Playbook user role then can launch one of these playbook templates while they work on their records to ensure that best practices are applied consistently at every step.
The playbook capability is currently available only in the Sales Hub app in Dynamics 365 (online). It is being released with Dynamics 365 for Sales application version 9.0.1810.4006 or later and the server version 9.1.0.0263 or later, as part of weekly release of the product to individual geographies.
