A: You need to have a device- it can be a phone/tablet/ laptop which allows you to access the Internet and access your account. As soon as a student/parent sends you a message, you would be receiving an e-mail, and you would also get the message within your profile, so you need to respond to the student/parent, for which you would need an internet connection. Prepare short videos showing your expertise in the subject so that students have an idea of your teaching and feel inspired to learn from you.

Q: Will TakeLessons provide a set format in which tutors have to teach?

A: No, we believe that every tutor has his/her own style of teaching which makes them special. We would not want to restrict your creativity by providing a set format.

Q: Am I guaranteed to get new students?

A: That depends on you and the market.

Every teacher’s experience on our site is different - some teachers receive new students right away and other teachers have waited several months to receive their first student. Ultimately, we aren't able to deliver any guarantees.

This variance can be influenced by two main factors:

(1) How awesome your profile is.

(2) The demand for local and online lessons in your subjects
