Closing a question
When a question is closed, it can no longer receive new answers from users. It can, however, receive comments.
There are 3 common justifications for closing a question:
Flame wars.
Questions that have run their course.
Off-topic questions.
How to close a question or answer:
Click on the Gear icon for the question or answer.
Select “Close”.
Select a brief reason explaining the reason for locking the question.
Select “Close”.
