Add ability to downvote a comment or answer

An answer to a question may be not relevant and may induce readers in error especially when no other answer has been provided and that answer was written by an "expert" who happen to be wrong on that specific question.
The person who ask the question should be able to downvote an answer.

Maybe the notion of downvote and who can downvote (maybe only expert on a topic, people with enough points ...) should be extented to other areas (questions, comments ...) but there should at least a way to provide information when an answer is not correct or relevant.

We are not going to add downvoting. Those actions are often abused and might bring negative effects in the community. We made that decision after very careful consideration. Thank you for your feedback @techwatching!

Good day Alexandre,

I totally do NOT agree with you and hope this option will be removed from all communities!

A person who tried to help and spend his free time to help others should NOT be punished even if he made a mistake! He should get "thanks" even when a solution did not fit the needs.

Moreover, down-vote is used by users for negative purposes.

In addition, newbies who do not understand an expert answer might mistakenly down-vote his current answer (I saw in stackoverflow for example, more then once, funny cases where someone from the SQL Server developing team - a person who wrote the code of the application, answer a question and get down-vote! It happen to me as well more than once that I gave perfect answer -> someone changed (edit) the original question -> this make my answer irrelevant since the question changed -> someone else come and without checking the history of the question, he wrote that my answer is irrelevant and down-voted it)

Downvoting is one of the worse features!

Yes. I agree with you @pituach . I may add that there is a worst ever virus on the social media of TROLLING or deliberate and mischievous negative comments.
However a wrong answer need to be corrected or clarified in order to maintain a quality standard of the forum. Therefore, may I suggest that there should be a provision to 'REPORT' (privately) the answer with classifications for objections/reservations (wrong / incomplete / irrelevant / spam etc) and also some explanations for the observations.
The admn of the site will review the objection and take appropriate decision. He may even refer back the objection to the originator of the answer for his clarification.
You must have observed such a provision in QUORA.

When a person has any objection or reservations to the answer posted on the forum, then in that case, there should be a provision to 'REPORT' (privately) the answer with classifications for objections/reservations (wrong / incomplete / irrelevant / spam etc) and also some explanations for the observations.
