Not a Substitute for TechNet or MSDN Forum

Very poor navigation....Unfortunately it's more like Microsoft Answers Forum and not a substitute of TechNet or MSDN Forums at all.
So sad to see the fate of those two classical forums like this.

@SSengupta-4080 can you be more specific on what features you are missing here?

For the record, we are not trying to build another MSDN or TechNet Forum site. We are trying to focus more on Questions and Answers than in conversations. We are trying to remove the unnatural barriers of the categories and forums as well.

I understand we are moving slower than we wanted in creating new features and fixing bugs and I apologize for that.

Anyways if you can provide us more information on what scenarios you would like to see covered or improved, we will consider them for implementation. Thank you!

"we are not trying to build another MSDN or TechNet Forum site."

But apparently the product groups are telling us differently. In multiple TechNet forums that I participate in, the moderators have posted notices stating that they are moving to this forum. They have even posted a date at which time the TechNet forum will be closed.

"We are trying to remove the unnatural barriers of the categories and forums as well."

Topical forums create 'unnatural barriers'? Since when? Topics make it easy to follow the topics you are interested in. In fact, you have done the same thing by have topics that one follows. I don't understand your comment.

Good day ,

You can use the following extension if you want to get a looks & feel whioch is more like the MSDN forums

https://github.com/pituach/RonenArielyQaN/tree/master/ShowHideContent

You can watch the presentation (ShowHideContent.pptx) before using it in order to get more understanding on what this extension does. The presentation is not full but gives good basic.

If there will be demand then I will improve the extension more. But I need to know that I am not wasting my time and it is needed. At this time I developed it to my personal use since I MUST HAVE IT if I want to use the QnA system.

Nice work with that extension! I wish, they will implement the features that you are using with extensions soon.

Thanks a lot @VaibhavChaudhari ,

I plan to add many more features if I will only know that people actually use it

I think that your message is the first public feedback which I got. I need a bit more in order to know that people use it, and I do not waste my time.

I think that the extension should be sticky on the top of the forum or presented in another way that all users will be able to see and use it. Using the extension we (the community can work on the GitHub) can focus on the UI, while the Microsoft team focus on the internals (the server side of the code) and fix bugs.

By the way, I can provide to the users several templates/themes which they can select from and each one will have different UI. What I do want to have from the Microsoft team is to improve the XML API for example.

At this time it is standing by itself.
