Device Manager Scanner Error code 22

I have been trying to install a scanner (fujitsu fi 7160) I have downloaded the relevant driver from the fujitsu website. Everything has been connected. Windows seems to pick up the device under printers and scanners but when I try to use the scanner itself within windows fax & scan or the Scan app from the Microsoft store, it does not seem to detect it.

It detects the device from a split second and then disables it within device manager. Every time I try to enable it, it displays in the scan app and then is disabled straight away. The error code I receive is 22. I've tried this in multiple USB ports. Is there any reason as to why this is happening?

If you can't enable it. I suggest you reinstall the driver for the device. To do this first uninstall the driver for the device reporting error code 22 then reinstall the driver.

Meanwhile, check disk space and free memory.

Update the whole Windows Operating System including the installed drivers and software.

Check if your antivirus/firewall or some other program will disables it automatically.

You could perform a clean boot to try it again:

If so, uninstall the antivirus program may help you.

Hi Teemo,

I performed a clean boot and it seemed to work.

The Antivirus seemed to be disabling it. I uninstalled Avast and reinstalled it and it worked.

Thanks for your help.
