How to turn off retail demo mode on surface duo

While trying to use QR code to register new surface duo with InTune, I did the 5 taps at the first screen. # 1. the message that i thought was confirming that i wanted to use the QR code was cut off at the bottom of the screen so I could only see the tops of the letters in the message. I thought it said to tap again to start the registration. I tapped again and nothing. I tried tapping some more and now the device is stuck in demo mode and will not let me turn it off.
I tried to turn it off buy going to settings->Security->Device admin apps and toggling the setting there, deactivate is grayed out.

Any ideas on how to turn off demo mode?

Please understand that this forum focuses on the Intune related issue. For turning off the retail demo mode on surface duo, it is out of our scope and I am not familiar with it. At such situation, we highly recommend you post contact surface duo support to solve this problem more effectively. Here is the link:

By the way, you can refer the following guide for Surface Duo enrollment after turning off the retail demo mode: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-duo/

Thanks, inTune-inrollment was the closest tag i could find. It was not very intuitive on how to find the correct area or tag. I posted a general question and was forced to pick a tag by typing one or more letter into a search box. it would be better if it had categories in a pull-down that you could narrow down from there.
