The kinect is working on my older laptop with windows 10. Now I have a new Hp spectre latop with windows 11. I've installed SDK-v1.8-Setup and Toolkit-v1.8.0-Setup and skannect pro. Same as on my other laptop. The light is flashing green on the kinect. I've also tried newer versions. But it isn’t working. Windows 11 is recognize him as an audio device. Scanect keeps saying sensor unavailable.
I hope somebody now how to fix this.
Thanks in advance.

@Eelke Schaaper Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Are you referring to Kinect for Windows Developer Toolkit v1.8 or Azure Kinect DK ?

There are a few things you can try to troubleshoot this issue:

    • Make sure that you have the latest drivers and software installed for the Kinect. You can download the latest drivers and software from the manufacturer's website or through Windows Update.
    • Check to make sure that the Kinect is properly connected to your computer. Make sure that all cables are securely connected and that there are no loose connections.
    • If you are using a USB hub, try connecting the Kinect directly to your computer instead.
    • If you are using a USB 3.0 port, try using a USB 2.0 port instead. Some users have reported issues with using the Kinect with USB 3.0 ports.
    • If you are using a USB extension cable, try connecting the Kinect directly to your computer without the extension cable.
    • If you are using a laptop, try using a desktop computer instead to see if the issue persists.
    • Try restarting your computer and then trying to use the Kinect again.

If you've tried all of these troubleshooting steps and the Kinect still isn't working with Windows 11, it's possible that there may be a hardware issue with the Kinect itself. In this case, you may need to contact the manufacturer for further assistance.

If you are referring to Kinect for Windows, please post your query on Kinect for Windows v2 sensor support

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you have any further queries.

    Hi,

One possible solution is to try updating the drivers for the Kinect sensor. Please try the below steps,

    1. Go to the Device Manager on your Windows 11 machine by typing "Device Manager" in the search box on the taskbar.
    2. Locate the Azure Kinect sensor under the "Audio inputs and outputs" or "Cameras" section.
    3. Right-click on the Kinect sensor and select "Update driver."
    4. Choose the option to "Search automatically for updated driver software."
    5. Wait for Windows to search for and install any available updates for the Kinect sensor driver.
    6. Restart your computer and try using the Kinect sensor again with Scanect or other software.

If updating the driver does not work, another possible solution is to try running the software in compatibility mode. Right-click on the software's executable file (e.g., Scanect) and select "Properties." Under the "Compatibility" tab, check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose "Windows 10" from the drop-down menu. Click "Apply" and "OK" to save the changes, and then try running the software again.

Could you try reinstalling or rolling back your Realtek driver if you have that installed? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VWnc66nrMc&ab_channel=ar-sandbox.eu
