My Azure Lab worked fine for months. But I have had some new users register and be granted access, and when they log into their training lab to start their VM they see a a red error - There was an error fetching tenants. Please reload the portal to try again. If you wish to switch tenants, you can sign in directly into a tenant by specifying the tenant domain or tenant id as part of the portal URL. For example, https://portal.azure.com/tenantdomain.com or https://portal.azure.com/tenantID I see the same error appear "in the background" in my Azure Portal. I am not trying to switch tenants or anything, and I don't know why the Lab users would see this. Eventually, their machine started, and when they shut it down it did that too, but the error popped up again. Doesn't look good.

Apologies - this is on labs.azure.com. The email address used for the Azure Labs Login was the user's, which I can't share. My tenant is nkr at logpoint.com

I don't have a screenshot of the error for the user, as it was them seeing it - but I also saw it "in the backend" Azure Portal. I assumed I could go through my notifications and see in there, but it's not there anymore. In my activity log, I see no errors any more at that time.

However, I DO See several Microsoft incidents that are logged at that time -
Active: Authentication errors across multiple Microsoft or Azure services - Investigating

So I assume there was a service outage at that time affected this...

@Nils Krumrey - No worries, Thanks for providing details.

By looking into it further, found that there was a Microsoft wide issues with identity on Monday night, it might have been an issue then - its mitigated now.

See this for more info - Lab Services Outage

Please try again let us know if you see these issues again and thanks again for reporting it.
