New Computer, Will only print in landscape from all software

I just got a new HP Envy desktop (9/30/2020), running Microsoft 10 and what ever I print, no matter what program I print from it comes out in landscape. All settings are set to default portrait. I can print from any other device and they print correctly. I have even double checked my advanced properties for the printer. I have double checked paper size, zoom, set full page, I have uninstalled/reinstalled the printer, updated drivers pretty much everything you could think of I have tried. I ran the troubleshooter Nothing worked, everything comes out in landscape. What else can I do?

I am having the same issue... All settings say portrait and when i set them to landscape it comes out in portrait but condensed. Can print on the other laser printer fine but not on the ink jet. Both are brother printers, older one is giving me difficulty and compatibility mode doesn't solve it either. All other computers print properly except one.

Yes, I really wish another possible solution would be provided on this thread. I have scoured the internet looking for a solution to this same exact issue, but all of them say to just change the printing preferences... Of course I've done that! I also have a Brother printer where this issue is occurring.

If there is anyone out there to provide another solution to this, that would be incredibly helpful.

I too and having the same issue...I have searched the internet so desperately to the point I am sure it isn't healthy. I purchased my laptop late last year, and my laptop printed normally up until a month ago. Now if I need to print out any work for university, I have to download it and then print it out using a library computer. All my settings are set to portrait: I have thoroughly checked the settings, advanced and all. Yet still this issue is occurring. Surely there has to be a better way, as with end of year terms fast approaching printing out via the library is far from functional- especially with the risk of yet more lockdowns and Covid around.

I have an new HP Envy laptop (September 2021) and this is also happening to me.
Everything is set to portrait and yet the output comes in landscape.
If I print to PDF it comes in portrait. Then if I send that PDF to the printer (Brother) I get the printout in landscape.
The printer works fine for other computers so this seems to be an HP Envy problem.

Hi,

There are two places could set printer orientation under printer properties. Have you verified both?
1.Print Default
Print properties-->Advanced-->Print-Defauts--->layout

2.Print reference
Print properties-->General-->Preferences--->layout

I have checked this and checked this to a point of being moronic. Everything you suggested states PORTRAIT - but it will only print in landscape. I can print from any other device just fine. So, right now I have to create my work then send it to another device to print. There has got to be a solution.
