Hi,
Error 0xC0000142 when you start an Office 2016 application:

Updated Windows - error code 0xc0000142 - btw - amazing MS knows this is going to be a problem when you update Windows - but doesn't have the tech. or expertise to repair this issue before you update! Followed the directions of going to Task Scheduler app. - reads to right click on the 2.0 update and hit "Run" - when I right click on the 2.0 update - can't right click - nothing happens.
Tried two of the other suggestions - both don't work. So - now that I updated my Windows and it upgraded to Windows 11 - I can't use any of my MS Office apps. Does anyone know how to repair this - if the instructions from MS don't work?
First, you have to start your computer in safe mode with Network.
Then, restart the device when the Windows logo appears, press F8 or F2, depending on the model.
Now, select Safe Mode with Network.
Click on the Start and click Run.
Then, type eventvwr and start any software now.
You can access the application in another way.
Make use of the shortcut Win Key + X to open Power Menu.
Then, select the Control Panel on the power menu.
Click the System & Security option.
Under the Administrative Tools option, click the View event logs option.
That’s all.
Using Registry Editor:
Make use of the shortcut Win Key + R to open the Run command dialog box.
Type regedit in the given space box of Open and click OK.
In the Windows Registry, Go to the following path.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE → Software → Microsoft → Windows NT → Current Version → Windows
Then locate LoadAppInt_DLls on the right side and right-click on it and select modify.
Now, in the Value data box change the value from 1 to 0 and click OK.
Close the Registry Editor.
Restart your device.
Go to the start menu
In the search column, type as Command Prompt.
Right-click on the Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
Type the following command and press Enter.
sfc /scannow
It takes approximately 10-15 minutes for completion.
Now, restart your computer.
