Does Virus & Threat Protection Scan of Excel 365 Enterprise Web Workbooks increase Crash and/or Freezing Risk? How to improve?

To reduce risk of crashing and freezing of trusted Excel Web Workbooks, are there settings to exclude Virus & Threat Protection Scan ?

Excluding folder has drawbacks

  1. I need IT approval
  2. folder can include non-trusted Workbooks

IMHO, without trial and error to find out if excluding trusted Web Workbooks with .xlsx extension will improve Freezing and/or Sync Issue, I need help to get qualified support excluding folder will improve Crashing and/or Freezing
