Access WSL2/Ubuntu Drive from File Explorer

With WSL2/Ubuntu installed, the local Windows C drive is mounted in Ubuntu automatically. Everything works great. I am able to copy items into my home directory from my Windows file system. The WSL2/Ubuntu drive format is ext4. Is it possible to view the WSL2/Ubuntu virtual disk via Windows File Explorer? Maybe a network share setup?

Actually, I found the solution soon after the post. It is automatically created.

  1. Open File Explorer

  2. Type \\wsl$ in the address bar

  3. My distro shows up and click on it and you can see the file system.

The information is good so I will accept the answer.

Thanks. I was able to find it too, but can you make any changes there? I have this message "You need permission to perform this action"
