Why does Win 10 version 2004 show as 'Not applicable' in WSUS

Win10 version 1909 (x64) - WSUS shows all clients either needing update (v1809 currently installed) or installed.
Win 10 version 2004 (x64) - WSUS shows all clients as 'Not needed' & 'Not Applicable"

I approved it and it downloaded, but it continues to show as 'Not Applicable', even for the clients that have version 1909 already installed.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

The issue appears to have been corrected by the following steps. I can only guess that this procedure perhaps kickstarted a reporting glitch on the WSUS. This might just be a one time issue with our WSUS, but I figured I'd post it anyway.

  1. Deselected "Upgrades" in the Classification option.

  2. Restarted the WSUS service

  3. Waited a day to give all clients a chance to report (not sure if this step was necessary)

  4. Re-enabled the "Upgrades" option, then restarted the WSUS service again.

I started this on Friday afternoon, and when I checked this morning (Monday), Feature Update to v2004 was now correctly showing as 'Needed' for all Windows 10 computers. Feature Update to v1909 was still showing as needed for systems running v1809 (in fact, v1903 was also now showing as needed for these same systems, but we declined this update since we had already skipped over this version).

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.
In my lab, I have two clients windows 10 1903, and Win 10 version 2004 showing needed for these two clients, make sure you choice the right edition(business editions or consumer editions):

Thank you both for the quick replies. We do have a 'business edition' listed in WSUS, but it shows the same status: 62 computers / all not applicable. I would think the 'consumer edition' would be the correct one since all our Windows 10 systems show as either needing or having the 1909 version installed. All computers were activated using the digital license embedded by the manufacturer, so this should fall into the consumer edition if I read the article correctly. Sorry, I thought I attached this screenshot with my initial post, but I don't think it went through.

One More Note: I downloaded the Windows 10 Update Assistant and it recognized the correct version on all the computers I tested and recommended updating to v2004. So I guess the issue is why doesn't WSUS see these systems as needing the update.

Why don't you look at what is reported as 'needed' instead?

Maybe that will shed some light as to why?

As of today, the only update that shows up as needed on any PC is the Win10 v1909 Feature Update. This is only needed on the 26 PCs that are running Win10 v1809.

Microsoft Supports an N-2 upgrade through WSUS.
2004>1909>1903
1809 is too old. You will have to make the double-hop through WSUS for the systems to upgrade to 2004.

Approve 1909, and then the systems will upgrade to 1909 and see the 2004 as an approved update and then update to 2004.

Win 10 v1909 has already been approved. As you can see from these screenshots below, 12 systems have been already updated to this version. None of these same systems show as needing v2004.

Here's another screenshot to help clarify the issue. These system show v1909 installed, but do not show any updates as being needed.
