How can I change the phone number to receive a verification code

I try to log in to a sharepoint of our partner company in which I've been registered since last year.

Upon log in, a verification code is sent to my old phone number which I'm no longer able to refer to. Even I choose "another option", possible options are all related to this old phone number.
I asked to the partner representative how to change the registered phone number, but they cannot solve it and propose me to reach to Microsoft team.
According to them, it seems that my account is accessing to another MFA than theirs. (I don't understand what it means.)

Could you kindly advise how I can log in to the site?

Hello,
Thanks for the detailed guide, I could add my phone numbers as primary and secondary contact.
Now a verification code is sent to the new number when I log in to my account page, but a verification code is still sent out to my old phone number when I try to log in to the sharepoint site. I don't see my old phone number on my account page, it seems to be stored in a different page but I don't know where..

@TomomiKikuchi-3241 The device might have some stale entry somewhere in backend. If that is the case, I would request you to open a support ticket with us and let the engineer investigate further.

How does one open a support issue? I'm having the exact same problem with my account.

@TomomiKikuchi-3241 Thanks for reaching out. Follow these steps to give it a try :

1) Sign in to https://myapps.microsoft.com.

2) Select your account name in the top right, then select profile.

3) Select Additional security verification.

4) From the How would you like to respond? section of the Additional security verification page, update the phone number information for your Authentication phone (your primary mobile device) and your Office phone.

5) Select the box next to the Alternate authentication phone option, and then type in a secondary phone number where you can receive phone calls if you can't access your primary device.

6) Click Save.

You can also follow https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/user-help/multi-factor-authentication-end-user-manage-settings#add-or-change-your-phone-number for more information.
