In the last weeks I have seen 2 threads where it helped to add the (Access 2000) msaccess.exe as an exception in the Data Execution Prevention (DEP).

Have been using MS Access 2000 on my Windows 10 computer without problems since windows 10 came out. Suddenly started having issue with existing database crashing and startup form failing to load (believed to have started after April 13, 2023 windows updates). Is not database corruption or database specific. I can take existing MDB file to another machine on flash drive and works fine. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000 repeatedly to no avail. I can get the same crash by creating a new database, create a new form and then try to add either a listbox or a combo box onto the form. It will begin to show the outline of the new listbox or combo box and then hang for a few seconds before access closes altogether. Event log view reports the following:
