Hoping that someone can assist or may have come across a similar issue.

We have a client with a fairly standard server file share setup. They have one network file share hosted on a Windows 2019 server. Users access this from a mix of Windows 10/11 desktops and laptops over LAN and WiFi.

Over the last 7 months, users have noted that in some PowerPoint and Word files, some of the images within, become corrupted. An example of this is below:

There is nothing common across the images or documents that we have been able to identify. Some images are PNG, JPEG, pasted from snips, copied from other location. It does not seem to occur against just one type. Similarly, there does not seem to be just one individual, these items can be accessed by separate groups of people and the issue still occurs. We have reviewed OS updates and versions of Office, all appear to be the same with no obvious issue. We have attempt the usual re-install of Office, however, we are working with a user base of approx. 60 users. Plugins do not seem to be common either with individuals. We have no way of identifying who has accessed or opened a file to know at what stage it may happen and anything we do find seems to make the cause of the issue less clear.

I am really hoping that someone out there has come across this issue in a similar type setup and may be able to offer some advice as I am unsure where to turn.

Many thanks in advance,

Chris
