bing custom search not working after updating to paid tier

Question

I've been chatting with Dotstry Jackson at Microsoft support and after being unable to resolve the issue, I was asked to post here. We have been using Bing Custom Search in the free tier and it working fine on all of our sites. Today we noticed that none of our searches were working. I was told by support that I needed to upgrade to the paid tier, which I did about 5 hours ago.

 After the upgrade of your Azure subscription to Pay As You Go, we are receiving the error message 'Unable to execute your query. Ensure that a valid subscription key has been set up for your instance.'

We've tried both of the subscription keys (as well as the subscription id) and it isn't working on our sites and it isn't working via cURL in the interface.

@especht I believe you are seeing this error on your custom hosted UI page after substituting your bing custom search resource keys in the Configuration-> Hosted UI tab and publishing the configuration. This can happen if you have not chosen Search resource key type correctly on this page. Please use the Search key resource type as "Bing search services" as highlighted in screen shot below:

After setting this configuration, please hit the publish button and go to production tab and use the hosted UI page for search.

You need not regenerate your keys on your custom search resource from Azure portal as this will create confusion and there is a chance that you are using an older key on your custom search instance. Please check the summary page of your production tab to confirm if you are using the correct custom search resource key before using the hosted UI page.

While using CURL also ensure to use the same key is substituted in the box before using the curl option.
