RDP Window Growing (Toggling Between Fullscreen and Window Mode)

Original posts:

This problem just recently started occurring (and may have something to do with some recent Windows 10 updates).
I Maximize and Restore Remote Desktop MANY times a day.
Using "winposstr" parameter, I have successfully had my window restore to one monitor (I have two), for some time now.
NOW when I restore down, the window GROWS beyond the edge of my monitor.
Each time I Maximize and Restore, it GROWS even larger (in width and height), eventually causing it to switch to the primary display.
I am at my wits end trying to figure out WHY!
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Update:
This is still ruining my day, and I'm periodically digging for answers!
Today I looked at my browser history to try and pin down WHEN EXACTLY this started happening.
I had started looking for answers on July 8th.
So I started looking through the Windows update notes and found this in the 19041.388 build:
"Addresses an issue that might cause certain games and applications to have visual distortion when resizing in windowed mode or switching from full screen to window mode."
So I downloaded the CSV file list, and LOW AND BEHOLD the files are all dated July 8th.
Something happened in that build that was meant to fix something, but messed us up in the process.
There's a ton of files in there and I haven't found a culprit yet.

Can this problem comes from Windows DCH drivers for INTEL graphics (used by mstsc.exe) ?
Since the problem started to occur around the 8th of july 2020, and these files came in that date...
C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\iigd_dch.inf_amd64_66e098cef7384fe0\igdgmm64.dll

Hi,

What's the OS build version you have installed? You can run "winver" in CMD to show the version information.

Since the issue seems included in the KB4565503. We suggest that you could install the latest KB to see if the issue could be resolved.

October 13, 2020—KB4579311 (OS Build 19041.572)

hi~

My OS was updated to version 19041.572 and KB4579311 was installed, but this problem still exists.

I tried to reduce the resolution of the window, which can solve the problem, but it cannot be able to full screen.

Hi,

What's your two monitors' sizes and resolutions?

hi~

My monitor model is Samsung C27F591FD, the size may be 27 inches, the resolution is 1920 1080, so the RD window resolution is also 1920 1080.

I am having exactly the same issue and it's really annoying. Currently working on Windows 10 Pro, OS build 19041.572, latest update for .NET Framework installed is KB4578968 (on 10/19), and on 10/15 a Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004, was installed and I believe that's when the problems started.
Displays are two AOC LM960s monitors, running on 1280x1024 resolution. RD is set to run at Full Screen, but I restore it and expect it to only occupy one screen with scroll bars about 20 times a day. Used to work just fine until these updated came along, now the restored window keeps growing and not showing any scrollbars every time I maximize and restore it. Help!

Hi,

It seems this is an issue on the windows 2004.

We suggest that you could raise your concern to Microsoft Remote Desktop Uservoice.

We will also post this to the Product Group, hoping the issue could be resolved in the future release.

Thanks,
Eleven

I experience the same issue since the latest update 2 days ago: Version 2004 19041.662 . Then upgraded to KB4586853 (2.Dec.2020).

The problem is still existing and enormously annoying (I'm working constantly on multiple RDP-sessions int eh AZURE Cloud).

Are there any news about fixes??
