I am using Event Hub Standard Tier with 2 TUs with capture enabled. However when enabling capture in parquet, I use stream analytics job created to store same data in delta, json and csv as well. Since in Standard tier it is billed $73/TU/month. If I use more than one file format, will I be charged extra?

According to Microsoft documentation, there is no extra charge for using multiple file formats with Event Hubs Capture in standard tier. You will be billed based on the number of throughput units that you have provisioned, regardless of how many file formats you use. However, in the Premium tier, Capture is based on processing units and different pricing applies. Reference: How Event Hubs Capture works

Thanks for confirming. Just one clarification though, instead of going into Process Data option of Event Hub Features pane,

I am following this method,

I create an event hub instance (for example eh01) in my event hub namespace without enableing capture while creating it.

Step 2, I go to eh01>Features>capture>Parquet

After this I click on "Start data capture configuration" button and it then asks me to give a name to stream analytics job.

After I give it, a name say "capture-job1", it opens up a no-code editor, where, by default an event hub input and an ADLS output is in place with connection between them.

I now basically go ahead and edit this job to ingest streaming data into ADLS as Parquet and stream it into Cosmos DB by connecting one more output to it of Cosmos DB type. Something like this,

Since I am still doing same thing but I am not directly using Process Data options of the Feature section to do the heavy lifting for me.

I assume, this still be considered as capture only and your answer will hold True in this case as well. But I will still seek your validation.

I found your last response very helpful. Can you just confirm what I described above will be considered as capture or do I have to use "Process Data" option?

@Rishabh Tiwari - Yes, your understanding is correct, whether you enable the Capture feature while creating the Event Hub or may be later, it will be considered part of the event hub with capture. The charges will be incurred for the throughput units purchased. The stream analytics job that will be created is part of Event Hub capture feature.
