Multiple Results Tabs in ADS

Question

Hello,

My previous SQL client was Toad for SQL hence I'm subconsciously trying to compare some features.

One is that in Toad I was able to run same query a few times but slightly changing some parameters.

For each run it generated Results Tab ( default was 5 ).

Then I was able to compare those Results and even they had a Wizard for Result comparison of 2 Result Set. It was. very convenient .

Sure .. here in ADS I could open many tabs and run query in each of it and have the separate Results but it's not that convenient

Hence my question:

Does ADS has an option to configure layout that every time user runs the same query it will not replace but add another Tab?

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum and thanks for exploring and using Azure Data Studio.

As I understand, you want to view result of different queries together so that you can compare and analyze better in ADS.

Please let us know if we understood right.

For this, you may try to enable Editor Layout to "Grid (2*2) " in View as shown below: 

Next you can execute queries with the needed changes in different sections of the Grid and could analyze results as shown below:

Currently we do have above functionality in ADS. If you want to view result in same tab, I recommend you to add your feedback over Azure Data Studio Feedback Channel where concerned team will look into this feature request and act upon depending on the importance and up-votes received.
