Teams Mobile buttons stop working while on a call.

Hello All,

I have had reports from one of my end-user in my organization that the Teams Mobile app for iPhone is not working properly. He stated: "For the last week, randomly during team meetings (via iPhone), the menu bar at the bottom of the screen with options for "video on/off; microphone/mute; speaker/phone/Bluetooth; options; hangup buttons" stops working, making me unable to toggle mute/unmute or (if my headset dies), toggle speakerphone features."

I checked with him to confirm his details:

iPhone 11 (currently version 14.1 of iOS)
Teams (version 2.0.23, Build: 1.077.2020100603 (general), Calling Version: 2020.36.01.05)
No physical damage on the device as the section where the buttons are work normally outside of as well as half the time while in the app.

Any idea of what is going on?

@SharonZhao-MSFT, I am going to test on my iPhone and I have a colleague testing the same. He has uninstalled the app and reinstalled it but he had the same issue.

Removed the Intune tag as this is unrelated to Intune.

I'm having the same issue using Microsoft Teams on my MacBook Pro. Couldn't turn camera on during the meeting, at one point somehow activated mute and had trouble unmuting myself, couldn't get leave button to work. Had to quit to leave meeting. All of the meeting buttons were essentially unresponsive while I was on the call.

@KristopherSanders-8234,

Do you try in other iPhones to reproduce these steps?

Do these buttons show grey?

Does this issue persist all the time after happened?

If this issue only happened on the unique user, restart his iPhone and try again.

If no luck, you could uninstall and reinstall the Teams client. Then, verify if this issue persists.

@KristopherSanders-8234,
According to the image, it seems that this issue also exist in desktop client.
It recommends you go to check the health status of Microsoft Teams in Office 365 admin center > Health > Service health.

@SharonZhao-MSFT, that is actually someone sharing their desktop screen. My end-user is using his Teams iPhone app to participate in his meeting. The image is large but you can see at the top of the screen the cellular icons.

At the bottom of the screenshot, you can see the buttons within Teams. These are the buttons my end-user is reporting. They randomly stop working for him during some of his meetings.

@KristopherSanders-8234,

How many people meet this issue?

I tested in iPhone 11 (version 14.1); Teams version: 2.0.25, build 1.077.2020102707(general), calling version:2020.36.01.5. It has no problem when calling.

So, it recommends affected user to update the Teams client to the latest version.

Hi,

I'm afraid I don't have an answer but I know someone else who has this issue using an iPhone. The buttons randomly stop working. He can't toggle his mute or camera buttons on and off and he can't leave meetings. He has been having this problem since Christmas.

@SharonZhao-MSFT have there been any updates to this? Did the other engineers have any answers?

Many thanks.
