Guest user denied access to SharePoint site even though they are a member

We have user that was able to access a SharePoint site has a guest, but the access has suddenly stopped, we can see he is a member of the site, but gets access denied, i can login to the SharePoint admin and they are listed, any ideas

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1.Check if the guest access expired: SharePoint guest access might expire automatically after a certain period. You can check this in your SharePoint settings.

2.Re-invite the external user: Try to re-invite the guest to regain access.

3.Check permission levels & Verify permissions: Determine the permission level that the user should have on the site. Make sure they have the necessary permissions to access the content they need. If the user doesn’t have the necessary permissions, grant them access to the file or site.

• Navigate towards the SharePoint site first > gear icon > site permissions.
• Click the advanced permissions settings button at the bottom.
• click the check permissions button from the ribbon.
• Enter the name of the guest you want to check and click check now.
• It will then provide the permission levels available to the guest you entered.

4.Check the B2B external collaboration settings to ensure that sharing with guests is not blocked.

5.Check the Microsoft 365 Groups guest settings to ensure guest access in SharePoint sites is working.

6.Check the SharePoint organization-level sharing settings to ensure guests to have access to SharePoint sites.

7.Check the site-level sharing settings to make sure that guest can access to the site content.
