Present to in PowerPoint for Teams on Mac 14.1.1 mutes audience

Today I used "present to" in PowerPoint (16.79.1) for Mac into Teams (1.6.00.29954 - most up to date version available to me).

As soon as the presentation loaded my audience was muted to me, but were able to communicate normally with each other.

Quitting presentation mode did not clear the issue; ending and rejoining the meeting was required.

This was tested to be the case in several meetings. It does not happen if PowerPoint is presented "traditionally" as an application directly from Teams.

Which feature in PowerPoint are you using? Which "traditional features" in Teams are you talking about? Can you provide detailed information such as screenshots so that we can better help you.

"Present in" button in PowerPoint, and "traditional" means just clicking the "share" icon in a teams meeting and so presenting the whole deck, notes and all. Screenshot will not demonstrate the issue as that is focused on the sound or the lack of it when in Presenter mode.

Ensure that both your PowerPoint and Teams applications are up-to-date. Sometimes, compatibility issues between different versions of software can cause unexpected problems.

Try a Different Presentation Method，as you mentioned, presenting PowerPoint as an application directly from Teams doesn’t cause this issue. You might want to continue using this method until the issue with “Present in” is resolve.

I've just discovered, it happens in the reverse direction, too... someone is using presenter mode right now, and I cannot hear them (the session was previously perfect for me)!

With best intentions in mind, but somewhat in desperation, admins applied Teams v2 to my profile. The problem seems to have gone away. However, I've lost all the recent open files lists from the share tray in Teams meetings. Sigh. Never mind, that's a whole other story. Close this one down
