Hi All,

I am a beginner in Intune.

The following image shows a hybrid device that I deployed using autopilot. What is the difference between these two devices with the same name?

Do I need both devices?

Does this answer your query? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/devices/faq#why-do-i-see-a-duplicate-microsoft-entra-registered-record-for-my-windows-10-11-microsoft-entra-hybrid-joined-device-in-the-microsoft-entra-devices-list

    Quote from the link:

When your users add their accounts to apps on a domain-joined device, they might be prompted with Add account to Windows? If they enter Yes on the prompt, the device registers with Microsoft Entra ID. The trust type is marked as Microsoft Entra registered. After you enable Microsoft Entra hybrid join in your organization, the device also gets Microsoft Entra hybrid joined. Then two device states show up for the same device.

@Cliff, Thanks for posting in Q&A. In Fact, there's a known issue in Autopilot "Duplicate device objects with hybrid Microsoft Entra deployments". A device object is pre-created in Microsoft Entra ID once a device is registered in Autopilot. If a device goes through a hybrid Microsoft Entra deployment, by design, another device object is created resulting in duplicate entries.

Hope the above information can help.

    Hi JM, Crystal-MSFT,

So the two patterns of purple in the picture are generated by autopilot, and how does blue appear (AD Sync?)? Is there a solution to this known problem? How should we identify or manage it?

    Thank you all.
