We can't delete the Network interface and the virtual Network

Hi,

We want to delete the Network interface and the virtual Network but we recieve an error message:

Échec de la suppression du sous-réseau

Échec de la suppression du sous-réseau 'NetApp_Subnet'. Erreur : Le sous-réseau NetApp_Subnet est utilisé par SAP-DEV/providers/Microsoft.Network/networkInterfaces/anf-SAPWG_vNET_DEV-nic-GSZ1DI/ipConfigurations/ipconfig1'>anf-SAPWG_vNET_DEV-nic-GSZ1DI/ipconfig1 et ne peut pas être supprimé. Pour supprimer le sous-réseau, supprimez toutes les ressources qu'il contient. Consultez aka.ms/deletesubnet.

As mentioned by Andreas Baumgarten, you must first delete the NetApp Service you have deployed in the VNET.

Refer : Virtual network for Azure NetApp Files volumes.

Please delete the NetApp service before attempting to delete the VNET/NIC.

Hi @Amani Sahli ,

it's not possible to delete a Azure vNet/Subnet as long as there are still resources connected/associated with the subnet.

In your case there is a NIC still associated with the subnet: anf-SAPWG_vNET_DEV-nic-GSZ1DI

You have to delete the NIC and maybe some resources with a relationship to this NIC before you can delete the subnet.

But it's the same problem with NIC, we can't delete its, here is the error message.

Failed to delete network interface

Failed to delete network interface 'anf-SAPWG_vNET_DEV-nic-GSZ1DI'. Error: Network Interface /subscriptions/711c8833-9a55-403a-bcc6-442edb0a1994/resourceGroups/SAPDEV/providers/Microsoft.Network/networkInterfaces/anf-SAPWG_vNET_DEV-nic-GSZ1DI was created by Microsoft.Netapp and can be modified only by the creator.

Hi @Amani Sahli ,

that's what I mean with the sentence "You have to delete the NIC and maybe some resources with a relationship to this NIC before you can delete the subnet."

If the NIC is related to the Microsoft.Netapp resource you have to delete the NetApp resource as well. Sometimes it isn't that easy to work work/delete resources in Azure with relationships to each other.

It might be required to delete the Netapp resource and the NIC will be deleted automatically as well.

But the problem persists, I can’t change the delegations for None.

The NIC doesn’t attached to VM or other resources.

You are not able to remove the Subnet Delegation because the subnet is being used by the NetApps. (the NIC is from the NetApps)

Are you sure you have removed the NetApps first?

Only then, you should try to remove the subnet delegation and then you will be free to delete the Subnet.
