Hello Andreas,
Thank you for your response. I am trying to complete the Azure Data Engineer Associate certificate. I am up to the step on accessing Data Migration Assistant.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/modules/migrate-sql-server-relational-data/4-exercise-assess-database
I have saved all my username-password combos and downloaded the admsdemovm rdp. When I try enter windowsadmin with no prefix it adds the domain prefix 'INTERNAL\'.
I am connected to my workplace intranet via an Azure VPN but I have also tried to log on with that turned off and on a separate private PC with standard windows set up (in which case the prefix becomes MicrosoftAccount) log on never works.
What happens if you try ".\windowsadmin" (without the quotes) for login?
Maybe resetting the password of the account in the VM will help (just in case there is maybe a typo).
