Setting daily call limits for Bing Custom Search

Hi all,

I would like to find a way to set daily "total calls" limits for my Bing Custom Search resource in Azure. I've appied the custom search API to my site and due to bot traffic, I am regularly going over my expected daily limit, meaning that my costs are also increasing exponentially as the month goes on.

Is there a way to set some daily call limits within the Azure console so that once the target is reached the resource will not allow any additional calls?

Many thanks in advance.

Hello @Malta Virtual Mall , Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A Platform.

The Azure Monitor alerts works best in your use case, so try to create a Metric alert rule. An alert rule monitors over your data and detects any signals that indicate an event is occurring on a particular resource. The rule captures the signal and evaluates whether it meets the criteria of the specified condition.

Try to create an alert rule for Total Calls navigate to the Azure portal->Bing resource-> Metrics-> New Alert rule by setting the Alert logic and threshold value.

Please go through this documentation to learn about Metric Alert rule: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/alerts/alerts-create-metric-alert-rule

    I hope this helps.

    Regard,
    Vasavi
